Arc Sunrise Over Worthing Pier

I'd been watching the forecasts for days, waiting for the right combination of clear skies and calm seas. When the conditions finally aligned on this April morning, I made my way down to Worthing beach well before sunrise, tripod in hand and a specific vision in mind. I wanted to capture the full arc of colour as the sun broke over the horizon behind Worthing Pier—one of West Sussex's most iconic landmarks.

What unfolded was more spectacular than I'd imagined. The first light of day erupted across the sky in layers of vibrant orange, deep pink, and gold, stretching from one end of the horizon to the other. The colours reflected beautifully in the calm waters of the English Channel below, creating a perfect mirror that doubled the drama. I knew immediately this needed to be a panorama to do it justice.

This image is actually 15 individual photographs stitched together, each one carefully composed to capture a section of that sweeping view. The result is an immersive, wide-angle perspective that places you right there on the beach, watching as Worthing Pier stands proud against that powerful sunrise.
