Bound by Blue

This was one of those mornings where everything just aligned. When I arrived at the woodland it was still pretty dark. As I navigated my way I couldn’t make out the composition would look like, I needed to wait for the sun to start to come up and give me come clues. I made my way to the spot that I knew I needed to be and waited, taking in the woodland. I’d never been here before and as odd as it may sound, the quiet kept me company. As the sun started to take effect on the day I could now see the bluebells and I could tell they were at their peak, carpeting the forest floor with shades of blues and purples. And the unlight, it was filtering through the trees, catching the mist that was still in the air. It was one of those rare, fleeting spring moments that feel almost sacred.

The way the light played off the trunks and leaves gave the scene a kind of natural symmetry – rich, painterly tones from the contrast of cool shadows and warm highlights. There was a stillness to it all. There was no wind, and the only sound was of springs woodland homemakers. Just me and the glow of morning. I didn’t want to leave.
