Arc
Worthing Pier, Worthing, West Sussex
Worthing Pier stretches across the horizon while a band of deep red cloud curves overhead, holding its shape as the sun begins to push through beneath it. The structure sits in silhouette, giving the scene something solid against the intensity of the sky. At low tide, the foreground becomes part of it. Wet sand and scattered pebbles catch the light in broken reflections, shifting slightly with the water as it pulls back. Nothing sits perfectly still, but it all holds together in that moment before the colour begins to fade.
