Ebb and Ember

Worthing Pier, Worthing, West Sussex

A wooden groyne cuts into the foreground, holding its place while the water moves around it in slow, sweeping motion. Beyond it, Worthing Pier stretches across the horizon beneath a sky fading through warm colour. The sea smooths just enough to soften the movement without losing it completely. The wood holds its texture, standing against the flow as the light fades across the scene.
