Cloud moved across the Sun throughout the eclipse at Talacre Beach, repeatedly hiding and revealing the changing shape above it. At first, it would have been easy to see the cloud as something getting in the way. Instead, it became part of the photograph. Light catches the thinner layers while darker cloud cuts across the frame, giving the scene texture and depth that a clear sky could not have provided. The crescent remains sharp against that movement, suspended within a sky that feels anything but empty. What could have been unlucky conditions became one of the elements that made the moment work.
